musikCube was a clean, lightweight music library for Windows.
It was actively developed by Casey Langen between 2003 and 2006. Now it's an abandoned open source project.

musikCube source code is BSD licensed, and can be downloaded here.
musikCube 2.0 was actively developed for long time, and has a much nicer source base (but very little UI code). The project page is here.
