Installation de musikCube
- Double-cliquez sur le fichier d'installation nommé musikCubeSetup.exe
- Si Windows XP Service Pack 2 est installé sur votre machine, une fenêtre s'ouvrira pour vous demander si vous souhaitez exécuter ce fichier. Cliquez sur « Démarrer ».
- Cet écran indique à l'utilisateur la version de musikCube qu’il est sur le point d’installer et explique qu'il doit fermer toutes ses applications avant de continuer. Cliquez sur « Next ».
- Vous devez ensuite accepter les conditions du contrat de licence. Ce dernier explique que musikCube est protégé par un contrat de licence BSD et que si vous souhaitez distribuer ce programme vous DEVEZ y inclure les informations relatives au droit d’auteur. Si vous acceptez les conditions, cliquez sur le bouton radio « I accept the agreement » puis cliquez sur « Next ». Dans le cas contraire, quittez le programme d’installation.
- La page suivante vous demande de sélectionner l’emplacement où musikCube sera installé. Le répertoire par défaut est le même que pour les autres programmes d'installation. Néanmoins, si vous souhaitez modifier le répertoire, cliquer sur « Browse ». Dans les autres cas, cliquez sur « Next » afin de poursuivre l'installation.
- Cette page vous demande si vous souhaitez ajouter un répertoire musikCube dans le menu démarrer. « Oui » est l’option sélectionnée par défaut. Si, pour quelque raison que ce soit, vous ne souhaitez pas ajouter de dossier musikCube au menu démarrer vous devez cocher « Don’t create a Start Menu folder ». Cliquez sur « Next ».
- Maintenant, il est temps de choisir si vous voulez créer un raccourci sur le Bureau ou dans la barre de lancement rapide. La barre de lancement rapide se trouve à coté du menu démarrer.
- Le menu suivant vous présente le récapitulatif de vos choix. Si tout est correct, cliquez sur « Install ». Si quelque chose ne va pas, vous pouvez cliquer sur le bouton « Back » pour modifier n'importe qu'elle option ou, si vous ne souhaitez pas installer musikCube, cliquez sur le bouton « Cancel ».
- L’installation de musikCube va débuter. Dans l’éventualité où vous rencontreriez des problèmes avec le fichier msvcr71.dll, redémarrez Windows et relancez l'installation de musikCube. Tout devrait se dérouler convenablement.
Importation de musique dans musikCube
Il ne fait aucun doute que la première chose que vous souhaiterez faire est d’ajouter votre musique à la base de données de musikCube.
- Commencez par démarrer musikCube.
- Selon la façon dont vous souhaitez importer votre musique, les options suivantes sont à votre disposition :
- La version actuelle de musikCube offre la possibilité aux nouveaux utilisateurs de synchroniser automatiquement leur musique au premier lancement de l’application. À chaque lancement de musikCube, la synchronisation comparera la base de données avec les répertoires que vous aurez indiqués pour trouver les fichiers nouveaux, modifiés ou supprimés. Pour paramétrer la synchronisation cliquez sur « Fichier » puis sur « Synchroniser ». Vous pouvez ensuite ajouter de nouveaux répertoires à synchroniser ou supprimer des répertoires déjà existants.
- Si votre musique est située dans un répertoire général, cliquez sur « Fichier » puis sur « Ecouter un répertoire ». Sélectionnez le répertoire dans lequel se trouve votre musique puis cliquez sur « OK » une fois que vous aurez choisi le répertoire. musikCube importe votre musique. Patientez quelques secondes...
- Si vous voulez importer certains fichiers en même temps, cliquez sur « Fichier » puis « Ecouter des fichiers ». Choisissez le répertoire contenant votre musique. Une fois les fichiers sélectionnés, cliquez sur « Ouvrir ». musikCube importe votre musique. Patientez quelques secondes...
- Vous pouvez également déplacer des fichiers directement dans musikCube. musikCube vous demande d’indiquer l’endroit ou ajouter cette musique. Il vous est même possible de définir l'option par défaut.
Personalisation de vos préférences
D'abords, vous devez ouvrir les préférences en allant dans Fichier -> Préférences...
Interface section on the General tab
- Show balloon tips while in notification tray. This will display current song, artist, and album when changing to a new song in the bottom right of your screen above the tray icons in a bubble.

- Start musikCube in tray on Windows startup. This starts musikCube in the tray in the bottom right corner and to bring musikCube up all you have to do is click the cube icon or you can control musikCube from the cube icon in the tray by right clicking.
Charge le programme musikCube dans la barre de tâche en bas à droite de l'écran et tous ce que vous aurez à faire sera de cliquer sur l'icone Cube pour afficher le programme ou vous pouvez contrôler musikCube depuis l'icone de la barre en faisant un clic droit sur celui-ci.
- Automatically synchronize directories on start up allows you to sync directories you commonly add music to, but first you must establish a directory synchronization by File -> Synchronization... then click add and navigate to the directory you want synchronized.
Vous permet de synchroniser les répertoires [au démarrage du programme] dans lesquels vous ajoutez généralement de la musique, et donc de mettre à jour la base de donnée de vos musiques. Mais d'abord vous devez établir un/des répertoire de synchronisation : directory synchronization by File -> Synchronization... puis sélectionné et ajouté (cliquez -> add) les repertoires à synchroniser.
- Minimize to System Tray does exactly what it says. When you click the minimize button musikCube is put in the tray and to bring it back all you have to do is click the cube icon. Minimiser dans la barre de tâche.
Quand vous cliquez sur le bouton miminiser de musikCube cela fait "disparaitre" le programme dans la barre de tâche et tous ce que avez à faire sera de cliquer sur l'icone Cube pour réafficher le programme.
- Close to System Tray also does exactly what it says. When you click the "X" musikCube closes and it put in the tray, the cube icon, and to bring musikCube back all you have to do is click the cube icon.
- Focus tracks cursor gives the user the ability to use the middle mouse button to scroll any scroll bars in musikCube.
- Enable Global Hotkeys enables or disables keyboard shortcuts to control musikCube.

- Ctrl + +: Agrandit et ajuste les colonnes de la fenêtre en cours. (Can result in weird things if some of xp eye candy is turned off "Show window contents while dragging")
Interface section on the Workflow tab
- Prompt when dropping files onto playlist affiche une boîte de dialogue lorsqu'on dépose un fichier par "glissé/déposé" dans musikCube. Il est alors demandé à l'utilisateur s'il veut "Add these files to the "Now Playing playlist", "Add these files to the currently active playlist", ou "Add these files to the library only". Il y a aussi une option qui permet de mémoriser votre réponse. Si vous la décochez, musikCube effectue l'action par défaut : ajouter le(s) fichier(s) dans la playlist "Now Playing".
- Double clicking a song starts playback and sets the visible playlist as the Now Playing playlist when the user double clicks a song that is the song and play list that start playing.
- OR Double clicking a song queues a song in Now Playing queues just the song you clicked in Now Playing.

Allows the user to choose which devices, drives, they want to appear in the sources list. For example A: is hidden by default, but C: isn’t.
Permet à l'utilisateur de choisir quel supports, disques de données, doivent apparaitre dans la liste des sources. Par exemple le disque A: is caché par défaut mais C: ne l'est pas.

- Enable enables window fading
- Window Active: Sets transperancy transition length when clicking musikCube or activating it.
- Window Inactive: Sets transperancy transition length when clicking off musikCube.

Sound section on the Crossfader tab
Allows the user to customize their crossfader settings and to save crossfader presets. To save presets just alter the crossfader settings then click add under the presets side of the tab.
Permet à l'utilisateur de configurer son effet "enchainement de musique" (NDT. cF traduction Fr dans le log pour crossfader) et sauvegarde ses préférences. Pour sauvegarder ses préférences il suffit de modifier les réglages puis de cliquer "ajouter" dans le partie "Préférences" de la fenêtre
Sound section on the Driver tab
- Sound Device allows the user to choose the sound card they would like to use with musikCube if they have more than one sound card installed.
- Playback Rate (hz) allows the user to adjust playback rate. The lower the rate, the lower the quality, but the better the CPU usage is. 44100 is CD quality
- Buffer Size (msecs) allows the user to adjust the buffer for playback. The larger the number the larger the playback buffer and less chance of a song skipping.

Allows the user to specify the freedb server used by the CD ripper. Default is uk.freedb.org
Misc section on the Auto-Capitalize tab
There is an auto-capitalize feature built into musikCube for auto-capitalizing words in tags, the information saved in a song read by musikCube and most other players to display artist, title, time, etc. On this tab you can put words on the exclude list so they are not auto-capitalized when writing tags (unless they are the first or last word in the phrase).
Sources list (left side menus)
- This is the core of using musikCube. Each of the menus can be collapsed by clicking on its title.
musik Menu
- Library: This is the main library for the user’s music in musikCube. Right clicking here gives the user the ability to show all songs in the library, hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- Now Playing: This is the list of songs currently being played. Right clicking here gives the user the ability to copy the songs currently playing to anywhere on their computer, the ability to move the files to anywhere on their computer, the ability to shuffle the songs currently playing, the ability to clear the now playing, and the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- Collected: This is the place where all songs that musikCube is directed to play by an internet browser or by a right click from explorer are kept. It is a temporary place to list these files for on-the-fly playing. One might compare this view to winamp's playlist in the way that it behaves.
- Net Radio: This is the list of the user’s net radios in their currently selected library. To add new net radios click File -> Open net stream. Right clicking gives the user the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- Search: Allows the user to search their current library by typing in the artist, album, title of the song, or even the file name and it will find what you are looking for. Right clicking here has the same results as a left click.
Devices Menu
- CD Audio: Allows the user to play audio files from CD. Right clicking gives the user the ability to rip the disc in that drive, refresh the tracks displayed in that drive, look up the disc with freedb which gets the track names, album, artist, etc., and the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- Disk Drives:
- Gives the user the ability to create libraries on other disk drives or even an mp3 player if you connect your mp3 player then start up musikCube it should be listed as a disk drive. Right clicking gives the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
Playlists Menu
- A playlist: Gives the user the ability to make custom playlists for listening to their music. Playlists can be created by dragging files to playlists or to the create button. Right clicking a playlist allows the user to copy the files in the playlist to anywhere on their computer, move the files in the playlist to anywhere on their computer, delete the playlist, rename the playlist, the ability to move the playlist up or down in its section, or the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- The Create button: Allows the user to create a playlist by clicking the button and typing the name in then hitting enter or dragging files onto "Create…" then typing a playlist name in. Right clicking here has the same result as left clicking.
- *Importing Playlists: Importing a playlist or files with a .pls is currently not supported. There is a plugin available for both exporting and importing playlists.
Dynamic Playlists Menu
- Right clicking where it says "Dynamic Playlists" allows the user to recreate the stock dynamic playlists.
- A dynamic playlist: Gives the user the ability to make playlists that are compiled according to certain criteria such as last played fifty songs. musikCube comes with stock dynamic playlists. Right clicking a dynamic playlist allows the user to copy the files in the playlist to anywhere on their computer, move the files in the playlist to anywhere on their computer, delete the playlist, rename the playlist, the ability to move the playlist up or down in its section, the option to edit the query which is how the dynamic playlist determines which songs to list, or the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
- The Create button: Allows the user to create a dynamic playlist by clicking the button and typing the name in then hitting enter or dragging files onto "Create…" then typing a dynamic playlist name in. Right clicking here has the same result as left clicking.

plugins list Menu
- A plugin: Left click varies depending on how the creator of the plugin decided to handle left clicks, but right click gives the user the options to execute the plugin, configure the plugin, stop the plugin, or see the information about the plugin by clicking about and the ability to hide/show the devices menu, playlists, dynamic playlists, and the plugins list.
Selection Boxes (album, artist, genre, etc.)
List of views: Album, Artist, Bitrate, Format, Genre, Rating, Times Played, Track Number, Year
All of the views act basically the same except for the content they display and how they move.
To change what a view displays click the down arrow in the top right if each view. This menu allows you to change what the view displays, add another view, or close the currently selected view.
Right clicking in any view gives the user the options: Delete -> From Library (deletes the selected item and its contents from musikCube’s library not computer), Delete -> From Computer (deletes the selected item and its contents from both musikCube’s library and the computer), Rename (rename the selected item). The user can also choose to play the selected item or queue the item in the playlist.
One thing to note is if you use one view and select the album "Hot Fuss" the artists view will be narrowed to just the artists in that album and the same goes for any other view. Selecting the artist "The Killers" will limit the album view to just albums containing songs from "The Killers".
The Select all (albums, artists, genres, etc.) will return the view to the entire libraries list of albums, artists, genres, etc. All of the views can be moved and docked elsewhere in the musikCube window or not docked at all.
Main Library Window (songs are listed here)
Right clicking the area directly above where the songs are listed. This area:

Results in the ability to show/hide Album, Artist, Bitrate, Comments, Duration, Filename, Filesize, Format, Genre, Last Played, Rating, Title, Time Added, Times Played, Track Number, Year. This pop up:

- Remove From Playlist does what it says. Remove From Playlist removes that song only from the playlist it is currently being selected in. The song will remain in your main library.
- Queue Selected queues the currently selected song into the Now Playing list
- To Lowercase makes the currently selected song’s tag (artist, title, album, etc.) completely lowercase.
- To Uppercase makes the currently selected song’s tag (artist, title, album, etc.) completely uppercase.
- Auto-Capitalize makes the currently selected song’s tag (artist, title, album, etc.) be capitalized in a normal fashion. For example Mozart’s 9th Mozart Classical
- Remove Extra Whitespace removes any extra spaces or tabs at the end of any part of the tag. For example, "Mozart " would become "Mozart".
- Auto-Capitalize and Remove Extra Whitespace completely normalizes the songs tag (properties). Normalizes meaning the tag is altered to use proper capitalization and removes extra spaces or tabs.
- Reload Tags from File brings back the original tag of a song. So if the user was editing a tag and completely messed it up all they would have to do is use this feature to bring back the original (unless you already went Tags>Modified Tags>Write Modified Tags to File)
- Tag from Filename pulls the title, artist, album, or whatever the user has saved in the songs file name and to put them in the tag of the file so most mp3 players can read the songs properly and musikCube can show the title, artist, and album of the song that is Now Playing. musikCube does this by allowing the user to choose how information is pulled from the filename. For example, the if filename goes "track – title – artist – album" then the user would want to enter "$TRACK-$TITLE-$ARTIST-$ALBUM". That would then pull that information from the filename and store it in the file’s tag.
- Tag to Filename does the opposite of Tag from Filename. Tag to Filename basically takes the information stored in the tag of the file and changes the filename to reflect that information. The user is allowed to choose how the information is saved to the filename through the creation of a mask. This "$TRACK-$TITLE-$ARTIST-$ALBUM" would make a song’s file name read "12-Mozart’s 9th-Mozart-Classical Music Across the Ages".
- Rate allows the user to rate the currently selected song through a system of -1 to 5 stars that is visible in the rating column.
- Delete gives the user two options one of which is the ability to delete from library (meaning musikCube will remove the file reference from it’s database, but the file itself is not deleted from your computer) The second option is the ability to not only delete the file from the users’ computer. This removes the file from the users’ library and the users’ computer.
- Properties selecting properties from this context menu allows the user to view the files properties including where on their computer the file is located and the ability to edit the tags manually.
Top Drop Down Menus (File, View, Audio, Tags, Help)
File Menu
- Open Files: Open Files gives the user the ability to import specific files into the musikCube database.
- Open Directory: Open Directory gives the user the ability to import many files at once by selecting a general directory containing their music collection.
- Open Net Radio: Creates a new net radio that the user inputs and is stored in the current library.
- Synchronize: Synchronizes, adds new files to library removes missing files from library and updates changed files, the directories specified by the menu item further down the list "Synchronization…".
- CD Ripper: Opens a very efficient CD ripper built into musikCube.
- Plugin Manager: Opens a graphical user interface so that the user can easily manage their plugins.
- Preferences: Opens the list of preferences. See Customizing_your_preferences.
- Synchronization: Allows the user to define, which directories they want synchronized, add new files to library remove missing files from library and update changed files, on musikCube’s startup.
- Database: Has three options. Import Database, which gives the user the ability to import a different music database. Export Database, which allows the user to save their database to move it elsewhere. Clear Database, which deletes the database (not the actual files just musikCube’s catalogue of the user’s songs.
- Exit: Exits musikCube.
View Menu
- Reset Interface: Resets the views and every other part of the musikCube interface back to default.
- Sources: Enables/Disables the view of the Sources (the menus on the left side of musikCube)
- Now Playing: Enables/Disables the view of Now Playing (the area at the bottom of musikCube with the play and pause buttons)
- Playlist Info: Enables/Disables the bar containing the information of number of songs, running time, and size.
- Playlist Info Vis: Enables/Disables the moving graphic behind the text on the bar containing the information of number of songs, running time, and size.
- Equalizer: Enables/Disables the view of the equalizer (note this does not control whether the equalizer itself is enabled/disabled).
- Always on Top: Keeps the musikCube window over all other windows.
- Full Screen: Puts musikCube in full screen mode.
Audio Menu
- Random: Enables/Disables random playing of songs.
- Repeat Single: Enables/Disables the repeating of a single song.
- Repeat Playlist: Enables/Disables the repeating of the playlist currently in Now Playing.
- Intro: Enables/Disables playing of the first ten seconds of each song only.
- Shuffle: Shuffles the current songs in Now Playing.
- Crossfader Enabled: Enables/Disables the Crossfader (default enabled).
- Equalizer Enabled: Enables/Disables the Equalizer (default disabled).
Tags Menu
- All Tags: Allows the user to modify all the tags at once in three ways.
- The first option is to "Auto-Capitalize" all the files’ tags (this basically makes all the capitalization "normal").
- The second option is to "Remove Extra Whitespace" from the files’ tags (this basically removes extra spaces. Not all spaces just extra spaces.)
- The third option is to do both at once by clicking "Auto-Capitalize and Remove Extra Whitespace".
- Modified Tags: Has three options.
- "View Modified Tags" which allows the user to view the tags which they have modified, but not finalized to database or written to file yet.
- The second option allows the user to "Write Modified Tags to File" which makes any changes made to the files in musikCube’s database apply to the actual file’s tag also.
- The third option is to "Finalize Modified Tags to Database Only" meaning changes the user made to files’ tags are not applied to the actual files, but the files that are finalized will no longer show up as modified tags when attempting to "View Modified Tags".

- About: Displays thanks, contact information, etc. Displays your version of musikCube.
CD Ripper
To get to ripper Right Click a CD in the sources list
Cette fonction très simple de MusikCube permet d'extraire des morceaux depuis n'importe quel CD Audio vers votre disque dur, et ainsi les écouter sans avoir le CD original à disposition.
Loading the CD Pour commencer l'extraction, insérer le CD dans le lecteur depuis lequel vous voulez ripper les morceaux. Dans le panneau de droite, choisissez ensuite le bon lecteur dans la liste. Les morceaux devraient apparaître dans la liste sur la gauche. Si nécessaire appuyer sur le bouton "Rescan" pour recharger le contenu du CD.
Enter CD information Si vous êtes connecté à internet, vous devriez essayer "Lookup CD" afin de chercher votre CD sur freedb. C'est un site contenant des informations (Auteur, Albums, Titres des morceaux...) sur des milliers de CD. Il est très agréable que MusikCube soit capable d'y accéder car vous n'aurez pas besoin de saisir toutes ces informations à la main. Si l'opération échoue, il faut que vous le fassiez vous même. Pressez "Edit Track Info" et "Edit Album Info" afin de remplir tous les champs souhaités. N'oubliez pas d'enregistrer chaque fois que vous modifiez ces informations. Ces informations seront ensuite sauvegardées dans les Tags. Ce sont des données ajoutées directement dans le fichier musical qui vont aider MusikCube à garder toutes votre musique organisée. Conseil : saisissez autant d'information que possible. Cela vous permettra certainement de gagner du temps plus tard, et cela ne nécessite pas beaucoup de d'espace disque.
File handling Il faut maintenant préciser les règles de nommage, le chemin, etc... que MusikCube doit utiliser.
Path défini le dossier dans lequel les fichiers seront extraits. Créez en un nouveau ou définissez en un existant. Pensez à ce que ce dossier ou un dossier parent soit dans la liste de synchronisation de MusikCube. Conseil : essayez d'organiser votre catalogue dès le début. Un bon exemple de dossiers est le suivant : Album entier\Nom de l'artiste\Nom de l'album pour les albums complets, Compilations\Nom de la compilation pour les... compilations et un autre dans lequel vous placer vos morceaux isolés.
Renommer les fichiers en utilisant le masque par défaut "Tag-To-Filename" est une fonction très utile pour ripper un CD et garder vos fichiers ordonnés en leur donnant une structure de nom unifiée. Soyez sûr que la case est cochée et appuyez sur le bouton juste à côté. Utilisez le bouton d'en dessous pour définir cette structure. Conseil : quelques bons paramétrages sont "$ARTIST - $TRACK - $TITLE", "$ARTIST - $ALBUM($TRACK ) - $TITLE". Pas besoin de faire trop compliqué car toutes les informations sont déjà incluses dans les tags.
Ripping A moins que vous n'ayez une raison particulière pour ne pas vouloir que les Tags soient remplis, n'oubliez pas de vérifier que "Write Tag" est coché. Si vous encodez en MP3 (voir plus bas), cochez "ID3V1" et si vous le souhaitez vous pouvez toujours cocher "ID3V2", bien que MusikCube ne soit pas capable de les lire. "ID3V1" contient normalement assez d'informations. Maintenant choisissez un des 3 formats d'encodage :
- LAME MP3 (Lame Ain't an MP3 Encoder)
C'est le meilleur encodeur MP3 du moment. Il est open source et produit les MP3 avec le meilleur son. Le MP3 est un format audio avec pertes, ce qui signifie qu'il y a une petite perte en qualité quand vous compressez dans ce format là. Son principal avantage est qu'il est très répandu et qu'il peut être lu sur n'importe quel ordinateur ou lecteur. Si vous ne savez quel format choisir, prennez celui-ci. Précisez un taux de compression, le plus haut sera le mieux mais aura pour résultat un fichier plus gros. Conseil : 128 kps est un minimum pour une qualité décente. Je recommende d'utiliser 192 kps pour une qualité (presque) équivalente à celle d'un CD.
- FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
A l'opposé du MP3, c'est un format sans perte. Cela signifie que le morceau rippé aura exactement la même qualité sonore que l'original, au prix d'une taille de fichier plus importante. Si la qualité est la seule chose qui compte et que l'espace disque n'a pas d'importance pour vous, c'est le codec qu'il vous faut. Pensez à préciser le taux de compression qui sera utilisé. Conseil : utilisez le taux de compression maximum. Le temps d'encodage sera plus long mais au final le fichier sera plus petit et la qualité sonore sans perte.
- OGG Vorbis
OGG est un format avec perte relativement nouveau. Il est libre de droit et ses principaux avantages sont une taille de fichier plus réduite et une meilleure qualité sonore en comparaison avec le MP3. Le seul problème, à l'instar du FLAC, est qu'il n'est pas répandu largement et que vous pouvez recontrer des problèmes pour le lire sur des systèmes équipés seulement de... Windows Media Player. Et c'est là que MusikCube intervient, n'est ce pas ? Pensez à ajuster la qualité de compression à votre convenance. Conseil : Qualité 0 est sensiblement équivalente au taux de 64 kps, 5 à celui de 160 kps et 10 correspond à 400 kps. Pour une qualité CD, choisissez 6.
Nous arrivons au meilleur moment. Si vous ne voulez ripper qu'un partie du CD, sélectionnez les morceaux choisis et pressez "Rip selected". Par contre si vous souhaitez le ripper en entier, pressez simplement "Rip Entire Disc". Ensuite vous n'avez plus qu'à attendre que cela soit terminé. Une fois cette opération effectuée, il vous suffit de "Synchronize" (File->Synchronize) et vos fichiers fraîchement rippés seront ajoutés à votre librairie.
Random Tips/Problem Solving
- Lost your stock dynamic playlists? Right click on the dynamic playlists menu where it says "dynamic playlists" and there is an option to create stock dynamic playlists.
* Vos playlists dynamiques stockées sont perdu? Clique droit sur le menu playlists dynamiques ou est écrit "playslists dynamiques" (NDT.vérifier dans le log.) puis, il y a une option pour créer un stock de données dynamiques.
- Strange Verticle Lines? Usually these are seen in the mC in a view that has columns. These verticle lines are a windows error that can be fixed by turning on (checking) "Show window contents while dragging" in the Performance Settings under the Advanced Tab of Window's System Properties.
- Duplicate files? Do you have a synchronization setup? If so did you alter the properties of any of your music? If so you need to remember to "Write Modified Tags to File" when you have a synchronization set up because musikCube reads the tags and thinks the files are two different files and imports the old one again. (To get there click Tags>Modified Tags>Write Modified Tags to File)
- Popping sound on song change? This is due to Windows using the "System notification" sound when the song information popup is displayed. You can either remove the sound from the "Sound" control panel ("System notification" event), or uncheck musikCube's popup information (File->Preferences->Interface->General->Show balloon tips while in notification tray).
- Cannot listen to net radios? Most net radio links are provided as PLS files which are playlists. musikCube does not support playlist files yet. In order to listen to a radio, download the PLS file, open it with a text editor (notepad will do), and look for an IP address (i.e. http://192.168.1.1:90). Copy this address and put in the URL field in the File->Open Net Radio dialog.
- msvcr71.dll If you experience any problems such as msvcr71.dll is in use or something similar restart your computer and do not open any programs other than the musikCube install and the install should work fine. For some reason some other programs seem to grab the .dll. The other option is just to ignore this error and select skip/ignore during the install (it is not neccessary to replace this file because it is not unique to musikCube and should not change normally).
